Ghana Triangle - Accra, Kumasi, Elmina We recommend at least 9 days for our most requested route - visiting Accra markets & monuments before traveling to Ghana's second largest city, and then to either Cape Coast or Elmina at the coast before returning to Accra. In the proudly African city of Kumasi, tour Manhyia Palace, home of the Ashanti king and shop at West Africa's largest outdoor market, Kejetia Market. Also visit the National Cultural Center as well as nearby traditional craft villages. Then to the coast, visiting the Slave River, the former slave castle at Elmina. Also at Elmina is a busy fishing harbour, numerous Posuban shrines and the hilltop Fort San Jago. A morning at Africa's only rain forest canopy walkway at Kakum National Park can be followed by another beach night before returning to Accra. From this basic triangle, it is easy to add days traveling into the Volta Region as shown on the 12 day route, or to the northern regions, or west along the coast. --See the 12 day Triangle tour-- --I want a 12 day Ghana Triangle tour-- Traveling very fast, this basic triangle can be done in as few as 5 days or add one extra day for 6 days that give you some forest time and enjoyment of the Kwahu plateau as shown at here. -See the 6 day Triangle tour-- --I want a 6 day Ghana Triangle tour-- |
